The number of families facing the needs of aging family members and the challenge of caregiving is growing steadily. Often, families don’t know where to turn for help and guidance. Compassion, Access, Respite, Education and Support are what make up our CARES Program. The Tender counsels’ families with information about dementia, care approaches, advanced directives, emergencies, medical care, in-home care providers, rehab services and residential care options. The Tenders Executive Director leads our CARES program for The Tender and community family caregivers. CARES strives to offer:
- Respite Care for Caregivers
- Community Resources
- Education & Support
- Caregiver Virtual Support Group
- Every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. – held via Zoom: Email Us for the link
- This group provides a safe and compassionate space to connect caregivers at all stages of their journey – from first-time caregivers to those who continue to attend after their loved one has passed. The group provides an opportunity for caregivers to exchange information, talk about the challenges of being a caregiver, and provide support and encouragement to one another. Sharing with and hearing from others going through the caregiving journey can help family members to manage the stress of the role. The support group is free and open to the public. Contact us for details and the ZOOM link.
